Standard Dell mouse gets GSR electrode implant

Standard Dell mouse gets GSR electrode implant

Looking to spark up a makeshift psychology lab in the basement of your house? Look no further than the galvanic skin response computer mouse. For those unaware, GSR electrodes can gather data about human interactions with computers, though most rigs are so invasive that test subjects end up freaking out rather than passing on useful information. This non-obtrusive method relies on a device that the vast majority of computer users already use (that’d be a mouse), and by simply installing the sensors into the left and right click buttons, you’re left with an analyzing tool that may not even tip off your kid sister, significant other, or your most favorite poker pal. At any rate, hit the read link to get your mad scientist on.

Palit’s Radeon HD 4870 X2 has preposterous clock speeds, marketing hype

Palit’s Radeon HD 4870 X2 has preposterous clock speeds, marketing hype

Hong Kong-based video card manufacturer Palit is excited about its Revolution 700 Deluxe video card — so much so that we’re a little frightened by the force of its enthusiasm. The ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 GPU is no slouch to begin with, but this iteration has cores overclocked to 750MHz and 2GB of GDDR5 memory at a face-melting 3.8GHz. As imposing as clock speeds are, they likely can’t measure up to the epic hype from Palit. “All other cards beware,” the press release boldly cries, “there is a new king in town and it only comes from Palit!” Tap the read link for the whole thing — best enjoyed while listening to the Mortal Kombat theme song.

Always-On Notebook Cases Are both X-Ray Friendly and Idiot Approved
Every one of you out there has a stupid friend. You know who I mean. It’s the person who insists on touching your computer’s monitor when pointing (because, obviously, five millimeters is too far away to indicate a point on…

Even robots love Obama

Even robots love Obama

You know you’ve tapped into a cross section of America when even the robots come out in your support. The $250 ObamaBot stands 6-feet tall and regurgitates stump speeches by the president-elect while presumably cleansing the Earth of any naysayers. ObamaBot’s University of Florida creators see the world as so imperfect, that they’d prefer to pal around with robots who would target their own planet. Run little girl, run… change is coming.

ASUS introduces VENTO TA-F foldable PC case

ASUS introduces VENTO TA-F foldable PC case

While not nearly as gnarly as Acrylic Cowboy’s inside-out case, the VENTO TA-F is probably more usable in most respects. ASUS’ new foldable PC chassis promises a 30% savings on storage and transportation, but alas, all that apparently goes away once you stock it full of internal components. At any rate, novice and expert DIYers alike will appreciate the “no-tools-necessary” clause, and the plethora of drive bays within will keep mobile data servers happy as a lark. Those who’d like to pick one up will have to look coast to coast at their leisure (thanks for the specifics, ASUS), but make sure to choose silver (TA-F21) or black (TA-F11) beforehand.

8 Cups? No Problem
I’m always amazed at the dexterity some servers are gifted with; 2 plates of food and 8 cups of drinks all delivered without a hitch. I can barely get out the door with 3 cups of coffee so I usually force a co-worker to come with me. Pick-Cups have uniquely …

How would you change Microsoft’s new Zunes / v3.0 software?

How would you change Microsoft’s new Zunes / v3.0 software?

Filed under: Portable Audio, Portable Video

Microsoft’s newest Zunes (along with the 3.0 software) have been out for well over a month now, which means you’ve had ample opportunity to really test one out and form some educated opinions. Now, it’s time to open up and let loose. Are you still down with the design? Do you appreciate the extras that came with three point oh? What else could’ve been added to really spice things up? Do us a favor and tell the suits in Redmond what you would’ve done differently, and moreover, how things can be made better the next time it feels the itch to bust out a software update.
